The quality of the music produced is decent, the beat is good, nice, fast tempo - appropriate for clubs, dances, and the like. The fact that this is a Britney Spears song probably boosts the popularity of it. I suppose the song follows true to the style of music she's been spitting out lately, slightly different with an almost European style dance pop beat to it.

Though, the fact that Kesha had co-written the song threw me off a bit. Now her songs are also, no doubt, catchy but the lyrics are absolutely atrocious. Of course, dance songs never have any deeper meaning than "I see you on the floor, I want to dance with you, we dance, the end." Britney's vocals are not much showcased in this song, seeing as much of the verses are sung in an almost monotone beat. I would have to say that the puller of the song is, of course, the beat and production of it all. The editing on her voice puts in a new spin to the song, the repetitive lyrics only emphasize this and make it easier for a person to subconsciously start singing it randomly, because it's the kind of song that can get so easily stuck in a person's head. It's not her best work, but it has its merits.

Song (sound, melody, rythm etc.): 4 out 5
Lyrics: 1 out of 5
Overall Rating: 3 out of 5

001: {If We Ever Meet Again} Timbaland feat. Katy Perry
Genre: Pop, R&B, Rap, Electronic, Dance, Hip-Hop
My Overall Rating: ★★★

It's hard to get tired of Timbaland especially if he continues on collaborating with various artists. His next <s>victim</s> partner in this case was Katy Perry. An unusual pairing, but strangely enough, it worked out pretty well. The song's arrangements were nicely done and the harmonies - although they were simple - worked well with the upbeat tempo of the song. It's not a song to be overly impressed by, but it makes for a good music to dance to. I particularly like how they managed to incorporate Katy Perry's pop-dance vibe with Timbaland's R&B-hip hop rhythm.

However, the lyrics do nothing for the song, but then again, when have the lyrics ever left a deep impression in a dance/electric song? They were rather repetitive which probably contributes to the fact that it gets easily stuck in one's head. The bridge is also very dull and I was actually expecting something like that. The slow building of momentum towards the final chorus was done with one line and various harmonizations. Although other then that, the overall song is nicely done and will most likely last on a playlist for a month or two.

Song (sound, melody, rythm etc.): 3.5 out 5
Lyrics: 2 out of 5
Overall Rating: 3 out of 5

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://katastrophick.blogspot.com/2010/04/001-if-we-ever-meet-again-timbaland.html' title='001: {If We Ever Meet Again} Timbaland feat.
